Ken Burn's

Helping me get through each night while my dedicated husband studies and my little boy sleeps.

And really making me homesick for Utah.

Income...

Because my Husband is a 1L he is not allowed to have a job.  He has made it through all of his schooling thus far with a full time job so this is new for us.  I've been working full time for my son since Feb. 2008.  Before that I worked full time and received an income.  Even though I enjoy getting kisses, cuddles, poopy diapers, and sticky fingers as payment, this obviously isn't going to help pay the bills.  So I knew that we'd be lviving off of student loans.  Wonderful, but i'm very thankful for it.  However, with this economy its been very difficult, as i'm sure you all know, to get a loan larger than what the school deems necessary for the student.  The living expenses the school estimates is only for one person, my studious husband, NOT for his wife and growing son.  So needless to say we've created a budget, a strict budget at that.  I also hoped to find a job, one of coarse that would work in such a way that we wouldn't have to pay for daycare.  Not that there is anything wrong with daycare, but I don't want to work in order to pay for it and then maybe profit $50.  So as of now I haven't found anything that works....except ...........................BABYSITTING.  Yep, I landed a babysitting job!  I'm so excited too, I'm watching another little boy very close to my munchkin's age.  They get along great, and its actually been easier than I thought it would be.  Even though we really aren't receiving a large sum, it will considerably help us out.  I'm am so thankful and consider it an  answer to my prayers.  I'm also happy to help a friend while she works.

A Well Needed Break

Slingbox!

Need I say more?  Allowed me a night of bliss while the Babe was sleeping and the Hubby was playing ball with the Law students.  I've missed you Project Runway.

Getting Here...

This one is Wyomming

We took the scenic and very captivating Interstate 80.  Driving through Wyomming, the worst part of the 12 hour treck, definitely was the highlight.  No there were some pretty areas, if you have an open outlook.  You will definitely know when you reach Nebraska, there is a lot more life there.  You go from seeing yellow plains to green fields of corn and soybeans.  When we came out in April we saw so many tractors that our son had learned a new word by the time we made it to Omaha!  Here are a few pictures of our journey.  Oh! And if you are a fan of Cabella's you drive right through it's birthplace...Sydney, Nebraska.  And it looks like its about the only place to shop in town.

Believe it or not, this is a museum bridge, crosses right over I-80.  Never seen one before in my life, still don't know if i'd ever stop to look inside, but it was pretty impressive amid the corn fields.

Let's get Started

Welcome to my Surviving Law School Blog!  I'm hoping that I will be able to help any other wife, mother, fiance, or significant other of a Law Student, make it through the grueling experience of attending Law School.  I'm not a "pro" by any means, we just started two weeks ago, but when we were preparing for all of this, and diving into the "unknown" it would've really helped me to see first hand what to expect.  Everyone tells you how horrible it will be, basically i'm expecting to be a widow this first year, and you talk to those that have made it through, but how do you really know what to expect unless you see it.  So i'm inviting you into my life, to see what challenges we face and how we cope with them.  And please, if you have any advice for me, share.
