The Brief.

Is over!!! Thank Goodness!  It was due today, now this may not have been or maybe was just as stressful as the past memo's, however this time for me, it was worse.  I'm not saying that my hubby was more stressed or gone more, actually I think he may have been gone a little more, but because of the stress from first, getting resumes ready, going through the on campus interviews, then getting rejection after rejection, then getting a few second interviews, and then FINALLY, THANKFULLY a JOB OFFER!!!! And on top of all this his regular classes and this Brief.  This semester so far has been exhausting for me.  I have just really missed my other half.  I knew going into this that he probably wouldn't be around and that when he was around he may still not be "around", meaning he would just be thinking of school and not even notice what I may be feeling or going through emotionally.  To be fair he has been very sweet and listens to my complaints and takes breaks from school to be with me and our little boy, but it still hasn't been the best last few months for me.  I have really enjoyed a lot of things we have done together and things I have done with my son, and my friends, but I think I just need SPRING!
This last weekend was warmer, but just last week we had a low of -1.  That was really depressing.  Thank goodness things are turning up.  I've decided that if winters in Nebraska are going to always be as bad as this one, we are definitely checking out after we finish school.  And this is coming from someone who was raised in Utah, I'm fine with winter, i'm just not fine with living in an icy, windy, freezer.  Sorry honey, truthfully i'll stick it out for you, but i'm through with winter!

And sorry for this depressing post, I didn't mean it to be, I just had to get it out there, I feel a lot better now too. :)

And i'm SO PROUD of my husband for all of the hard work he is doing for our family! He really has been working overtime and i'm so excited and proud of him for getting a GREAT job for this summer and the upcoming school year.

A Pot-Hole Epidemic & "Frizzles"

What you experience in Nebraska...

Last night the Mayor of Lincoln, NE had a press conference announcing that we are having a Pot-Hole Epidemic. What?! An epidemic...seriously?...yes we are having major pot hole problems from all of the petrified snow from last year that is SLOWLY melting and then freezing the next morning, but to call it an epidemic...I think its a bit much. The Mayor even announced that there is a "Pot-Hole Hotline" and then if thats busy to call the Neighborhood Hotline. It just made me laugh.

Then I laughed some more...

Because the local weatherman started talking about "Frizzle". Any guesses as to what that may mean? Living in Utah all of my life I didn't really think that there was anything besides snow, sleet, hale, and rain. But there is "Frizzle", freezing drizzle, and i'm not sure exactly what he is referring to. The weird itty bitty balls of snow that they call snow (NOT SNOW) or the mist you feel on your face and neck, but can't see. Like when you are at a theme park and they have those misters to cool you off, just not as much.

Anyway, thought you might get a kick out the exciting things that are happening here in Nebraska.

And I'm sorry I took a long break from this Blog, really I haven't done much for this Blog.  Who knew I'd be just as busy and exhausted as my hard working Hubby who is in his 1st year of Law School.
I will be back on top of things soon though.

J. Rueben Clark Law Society

Thankfully, just about every month, so far, we have a JRCL's meeting.  Well actually its just a "get together" I guess. The first one was at the beginning of school and it was at a Park here in Lincoln on a Saturday, we had pizza and just chatted it up with the other law students.  It was the first week of Nebraska football, crazy fans here in Lincoln, and we were one of the few who showed up wearing our BYU blue, when everyone else was wearing Nebraska Red.  Oh well, we can't ever stop supporting those Cougs.  And Now we know that on game day, when you leave your home, you BETTER be wearing red, or you'll have to endure the glares that will be following you while you grocery shop.
On Friday we had our second "get together".  We met together at the Chapel and had dinner and dessert. Then we got to say goodbye to the little ones- those that had them, they had a nursery for them to play in, while we listened to a great message prepared by a man who I don't remember his name, sorry, I know however that he is in the Stake Presidency.  (He is a Social Science professor I believe)  He spoke to us about the stresses we will face on our marriage while our loved one is attending Law School.  He did a great job and even left us with homework.  We have a nice list of questions that we need to answer and then discuss together.  Questions like..."Who are your two closest friends?", " What is your fondest childhood memory?", "What is your favorite food?".  These questions are supposed to be fun, and be a way to reconnect to eachother.  So we tried it, and we only asked a few questions but it was fun, and come to find out, some of the questions we didn't even have answers for.  So it was nice to figure them out together.
I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful husband who cares so much about me and our son.  Amidst all of the stress he endures while attending Law School, he still finds time for us, even if its not much, that little bit makes a difference.  We love you babe.

Lincoln, Nebraska Parade of Homes

A dissapointment.

BUT,

Atleast it was a little break from the normal day to day grind.
They need to really decorate the homes, instead "furnished" meant a couch, table, lamp, and maybe a rug.
